Since 1994, Gilles Chancereul, Violinmaker - Auctioneer of modern and antique musical instruments and appraiser for the Chambre Européenne en Ouvres d’Art, organizes public auctions of stringed instruments under the auspices of Millon & Associés. Since 1999, Gilles Chancereul, is also expert for the CMP.
Two sales are held each year in Paris, one in April during the Musicora International Music Fair, the other in the fall at Drouot-Richelieu, the world-renowned Parisian auction house. Both sales include instruments of the violin family (violins, violas, cellos, double basses and bows) as well as keyboard, woodwind, brass and plucked stringed instruments. Our auctions often include many French violins and bows of the 19th and early 20th centuries by the finest makers such as Nicolas Lupot, Gand & Bernadel, Jean Baptiste Vuillaume.
